Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Sr. Surgical Technician assists in the preparation, processing, care and maintenance of instruments, supplies and equipment, and functions as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures.

The individual must know aseptic technique and be able to scrub independently in orthopaedic procedures anticipating the needs of the surgeon and have knowledge in the sequencing of the surgical procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF
  • Medical Center locations.
    High School diploma
  • Two years of experience as a Surgical Technician and ambulatory surgery experience.
  • Two years orthopaedic experience in an ambulatory setting.

Preferred

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician educational program
  • Certification preferred

License/Certification

  • Current AHA CPR certification
